Ordinance No. 6,461921210 -2 ORDINANCE NO. 6461 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, • TEXAS, NAMING THE POLICE SUBSTATION IN WEST BAYTOWN AS THE "RON McLEMORE POLICE SUBSTATION "; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. U WHEREAS, the City of Baytown, wishes to acknowledge the dedication and service to the Baytown Police Department and the citizens of Baytown by Ron McLemore; and WHEREAS, Ron McLemore faithfully served the City of Baytown and its citizens for over twenty years as a Police Legal Adviser /Assistant City Attorney and City Prosecutor; and WHEREAS, Ron McLemore provided uncalculated hours of legal training, legal assistance/ advice, and related legal services while working to upgrade the level of law enforcement and community protection provided to the citizens of Baytown; and WHEREAS, he represented the citizens of Baytown as their prosecutor in Municipal Court to seek justice for all who came before the Court; and WHEREAS, he supported the youth of the community through his service to the Baytown Youth Fair and Rodeo and his strong support for their activities; and WHEREAS, he was active in numerous community service organizations; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the new police substation in West Baytown is hereby named and shall henceforth be known as the "Ron McLemore Police Substation." An appropriate sign denoting this designation shall be obtained for the substation. Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
