ORDINANCE NO. 6426
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN
BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE
ANNEXATION OF THE PARKWOOD PLACE SUBDIVISION (SECTION I)
PROPERTY - RACCOON ROAD SITE; WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES
ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS FOR
THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, there being no request for an "on- site" hearing,
two public hearings before the City Council of the City of
Baytown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with
an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the
property described in Section 1 of this ordinance, were held, one
at 6:45 p.m. and the other at 7:00 p.m., on the 8th day of
October, 1992, in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of
the City of Baytown, Texas, which date is not more than forty
(40) nor less than twenty (20) days prior to the institution of
annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, notices of such public hearings were published in a
newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown,
Texas, and in the below described territory on the 28th day of
September, 1992, which date is not more than twenty (20) nor less
than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearings; and
WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown,
Texas, on the 1st day of January, 1992, was 32.06 square miles;
and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas, is
approximately 65,159 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, the below described territory lies within the
extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the below described territory lies adjacent to and
adjoins the City of Baytown, Texas; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the following described land and territory
lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown is hereby
added and annexed to the City of Baytown, Texas, and shall
hereinafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of
Baytown, Texas, and present boundary limits of such City, at the
various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are
altered and amended so as to include said area within the
corporate limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, to -wit:

Section 2: The above described territory and the area so
• annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the
property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata of the taxes
levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof
shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the
citizens of the City of Baytown and shall be bound by the acts,
ordinances, resolutions, and regulations of the City of Baytown,
Texas.
Section 3: In accordance with TEX.L.GOV'T.CODE ANN. S
43.056, as amended, the service plan prepared by the City for
providing municipal services to the annexed area is attached as
Exhibit "B" and is hereby approved.
Section 4: This ordinance shall be published and passed in
the manner provided in Article 1, Section 9, of the Charter of
the City of Baytown, Texas.

BEING 10.6692 acre tract of land situated in the Christian Smith
League, Abstract No. 69, Harris County, Texas, and being out of and
a part of a so- called 31.39 acre tract of land conveyed to William-
R. Laughlin, Trustee, by deed recorded in Volume 8316 at Page 53
of the Deed Records of Harris County, Texas, and more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows, to -wit:
BEGINNING at a 1/2 inch iron rod found for the Southeast corner of
this tract of land, the Southeast corner of said 31.99 acre tract
of land and the Northeast corner of a 9.886 acre tract of land
conveyed to the City of Baytown, Texas, by G. H. Lawless, and being
in the West right of way line of Raccoon Drive.
THENCE South 80 deg 16 min 09 sec West with the South line of this
tract, and along the existing Baytown City limit line a distance
of 395.55 feet to a 1/2 inch iron rod found for the most Southern

SUMMARY
• Size of Area: The area proposed for annexation consists of
approximately 10.6692 acres.
Proposed Land-Use: The subject site is anticipated to be developed
residentially as a single - family subdivision with some parcels
reserved for other uses.
Impact: As a result of this proposed annexation, no additional
city facilities, vehicles, or personnel will be required. For fire
protection purposes, the project site will be assigned to Fire
District Six.
Means of Accomplishment: The annexation will be accomplished from
the existing city limit line along Raccoon Road.
Public InRut: Public Hearings are scheduled for October 8, 1992 at
6:45 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the City of Baytown City Hall Council
Chambers.
Attachments: Attached to this summary are the specific Service
Plan elements submitted by each of the major city departments. The
originals of these documents are on file in the City Clerk's
office.
