Ordinance No. 6,336920909 -1 ORDINANCE NO. 6336 • AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF SIX THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED NINETY -FIVE AND N01100 ($6,495.00) DOLLARS TO YOUNG PLUMBING AND HEATING CO. FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE CONDENSER FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT AT THE BAYTOWN COMMUNITY BUILDING; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the Baytown Community Building air conditioning unit is in need of a condenser; and WHEREAS, TEX. L. GOV'T. CODE ANN. S 252.022, provides that in case of unforeseen damage to public machinery, equipment, or other property, the requirement for competitive bids is not applicable; and WHEREAS, informal bids for the replacement of the condenser for the air conditioning unit at the Baytown Community Building have been obtained, and Young Plumbing and Heating Co., is the low bid; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists. Section 2: That payment to Young Plumbing and Heating Co. of the sum of SIX THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED NINETY -FIVE AND N01100 ($6,495.00) DOLLARS for the replacement of the condenser for the air conditioning unit at the Baytown Community Building is hereby authorized. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
