Ordinance No. 6,260920526 -9 ORDINANCE NO. 6260 AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT THE PAYMENT OF TAXES BY BIX TESTING LABORATORIES ON ACCOUNT NUMBER 9905 - 046 -731 -3 FOR THE TAX YEARS 1989 AND 1990 WAS EXCESSIVE; APPROVING A REFUND OF THE OVERPAYMENT OF THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED THIRTY -SEVEN AND 37/100 ($3,337.37) DOLLARS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, BIX Testing Laboratories has applied for a refund of an overpayment of taxes on account number 9905- 046 -731 -3 for the tax years 1989 and 1990 alleging a substantial error in the appraisal records; and WHEREAS, the Appraisal Review Board for the Harris County Appraisal District has found that the appraisal records for account number 9905- 046 -731 -3 were incorrect and has corrected the records to conform them to the requirements of law; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, has determined that the payment of taxes on account number 9905 -046 -731 -3 for the tax years 1989 and 1990 by BIX Testing Laboratories was excessive in the amount of THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED THIRTY -SEVEN AND 37/100 ($3,337.37); NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council hereby approves and authorizes payment of THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED THIRTY -SEVEN AND 37/100 ($3,337.37) to BIX Testing Laboratories as a refund of the excessive payment of taxes on account number 9905- 046 -731 -3 for the tax years 1989 and 1990. Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
