Ordinance No. 6,208920406 -1 ORDINANCE NO. 6208 • AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS, AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND N01100 ($2,800,00) DOLLARS TO STEAMATIC OF BAYTOWN, INC. FOR RECORD RECOVERY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, City of Baytown records have sustained water damage and must be treated to prevent their destruction; and WHEREAS, TEX. L.GOVOT. CODE ANN. S 252.022, provides that in case of unforeseen damage to public machinery, equipment, or other property, the requirement for competitive bids is not applicable; and WHEREAS, informal bids for record recovery h a v e b e e n obtained, and Steamatic of Baytown, Inc., is the low bid; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists. Section 2: That payment to Steamatic of Baytown, Inc. for an amount not to exceed the sum of TWO THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND N01100 ($2,800.00) DOLLARS for record recovery is hereby authorized. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
