ORDINANCE NO. 6208
• AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION
EXISTS, AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
THE SUM OF TWO THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND N01100
($2,800,00) DOLLARS TO STEAMATIC OF BAYTOWN, INC. FOR
RECORD RECOVERY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, City of Baytown records have sustained water damage
and must be treated to prevent their destruction; and
WHEREAS, TEX. L.GOVOT. CODE ANN. S 252.022, provides that in
case of unforeseen damage to public machinery, equipment, or
other property, the requirement for competitive bids is not
applicable; and
WHEREAS, informal bids for record recovery h a v e b e e n
obtained, and Steamatic of Baytown, Inc., is the low bid; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists.
Section 2: That payment to Steamatic of Baytown, Inc.
for an amount not to exceed the sum of TWO THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED
AND N01100 ($2,800.00) DOLLARS for record recovery is hereby
authorized.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 6th day of April,
1992.
