Ordinance No. 6,207920326 -19 ORDINANCE N0. 6207 • AN ORDINANCE APPROVING PAYMENT OF TWENTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND N01100 ($25,000.00) DOLLARS TO SETTLE CHRISTOPHER T. CARROLL VS. THE CITY OF BAYTOWN__FIRE DEPARTMENT: AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, Christopher T. Carroll filed a lawsuit against the City of Baytown Fire Department, Cause Number H -90 -1286, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division; and WHEREAS, the parties to this suit have agreed to a settlement of this dispute, whereby the City of Baytown will pay to the Plaintiff and his Attorneys the sum of TWENTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND N01100 ($25,000.00) DOLLARS; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City of Baytown agrees to pay to Christopher T. Carroll and his Attorneys, Anthony P. Griffin and Gerson D. Bloom, the sum of TWENTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND N01100 ($25,000.00) DOLLARS solely to settle a disputed claim. In authorizing this settlement, City Council does not acknowledge or admit to any liability. Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
