Ordinance No. 6,196Published In: THE BAYTOWN SUN Tuesday, March 31, 1992 920326 -8 Wednesday, April 1, 1992 ORDINANCE NO. 6196 AN ORDINANCE, DESIGNATING, TEMPORARILY, FOR A NINETY • (90) DAY PERIOD, PORTIONS OF CARNEGIE STREET AND GENTRY STREET AS ONE -WAY STREETS; REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND N01100 ($200.00) DOLLARS FOR EACH VIOLATION; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That for ninety (90) days after passage and the placement of necessary markings, signage, and related precautionary measures, the following described portion of Carnegie Street is hereby declared to be a one -way street, to wit: Carnegie Street: One -way southbound from Market Street to Gentry Street. Section 2: That for ninety (90) days after passage and the placement of necessary markings, signage, and related precautionary measures, the following described portion of Gentry Street is hereby declared to be a one -way street, to wit: Gentry Street: One -way eastbound from Carnegie Street to Martin Luther King Boulevard. Section 3: The Director of Planning and Traffic is authorized and directed to cause the placement of the proper signs to be posted at the above described location. Section 4: It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to disobey the instructions of the signs placed in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, unless at the time otherwise directed by a police officer. Section 5: All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby repealed; provided however, that such repeal shall be only to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance. Section 6: If any provisions, section, exception, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of circumstances, shall for any reason be held unconstitutional, void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of • the remaining provisions of to other persons or sets o provisions of this ordinance • 920326 -8a this ordinance or their application f circumstances and to this end all are declared to be severable.
