Ordinance No. 6,174920227 -11 ORDINANCE NO. 6174 • AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF EIGHTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY -FIVE AND N01100 ($18,725.00) DOLLARS TO CENTRIFUGE CONSULTANTS, INC. FOR THE REPAIR OF THE CENTRIFUGE AT THE WEST DISTRICT WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ********************************* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** WHEREAS, the centrifuge, which is the primary means of sludge removal at the West District Wastewater Treatment Plant, is in need of immediate repair; and WHEREAS, TEX. L. GOV'T. CODE ANN. S 252.022, provides that in case of procurements for the protection of public health or safety, the requirement for competitive bids is not applicable; and WHEREAS, informal bids for the repair of the centrifuge at the West District Wastewater Treatment Plant have been obtained, and Centrifuge Consultants, Inc., is the low bid; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists. Section 2: That payment to Centrifuge Consultants, Inc. of the sum of EIGHTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY -FIVE AND N01100 ($18,725.00) DOLLARS for the repair of the centrifuge at the West District Wastewater Treatment Plant is hereby authorized. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
