ORDINANCE NO. 6097
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION
EXISTS, AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF TWO THOUSAND
TWO HUNDRED SIXTY -SIX AND 64/100 ($2,266.64) DOLLARS TO
IMSCO SUPPLY FOR PIPE AND FITTINGS TO REPAIR THE
SANITARY SEWER FORCE MAIN AT THE WOODLAWN LIFT STATION;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, a 160 sanitary sewer force main that serves the
Woodlawn lift station has failed in the area of the drainage
ditch located at the intersection of Kilgore Road and James
Street; and
WHEREAS, TEX. L.GOV'T.CODE ANN. § 252.022, provides that in
case of procurements for the protection of public health or
safety, the requirement for competitive bids is not applicable;
and
WHEREAS, informal bids for pipe and fittings to repair the
sanitary sewer force main at the Woodlawn lift station have been
obtained, and IMSCO Supply is the low bid; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists.
Section 2: That payment to IMSCO Supply of the sum of TWO
THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED SIXTY -SIX AND 64/100 ($2,266.64) DOLLARS for
pipe and fittings to repair the sanitary sewer force main at the
Woodlawn lift station is hereby authorized.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 12th day of
December, 1991.
