Ordinance No. 6,091Published In: THE BAYTOWN SUN 911212-3 Wednesday, December 18, 1991 Thursday, December 19, 1991 ORDINANCE NO. 6091 AN ORDINANCE TEMPORARILY CLOSING A PORTION OF CARNEGIE STREET AND GENTRY STREET FOR THE PURPOSE OF STUDYING THE EFFECTS OF TRAFFIC FLOW AROUND AND THROUGH ROBERT E. LEE HIGH SCHOOL; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the traffic flow around and through the Robert E. Lee High School campus along with related security concerns has prompted the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District to request that the City Council temporarily close a portion of Carnegie Street and Gentry Street in order to study the impact of such measures; and WHEREAS, it appears that such request is reasonable under the circumstances and it further appears that the interest of no other owners of property in the area or of the Public in general will be prejudiced or impaired thereby; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the following portions of Carnegie Street and Gentry Street shall be temporarily closed for ninety (90) days for the purpose of determining the impact: Carnegie Street: Gentry Street: Between Market Street and the Southern Pacific Railroad grade crossing. Between Carnegie Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard. Section 2: That this ordinance shall cease to have any force or effect (ninety) 90 days after passage and implementation. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days from its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10) days after passage of this ordinance.
