ORDINANCE NO. 5961
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION
EXISTS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF TWO
THOUSAND AND N01100 ($2,000.00) DOLLARS TO McLAT
CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSTON FOR INSTALLATION OF THE LINERS
IN THE SEWER PIPE AND THREE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED NINE
AND NO 1100 ($3,609.00) DOLLARS TO MASKELL /ROBBINS FOR
THE SIXTEEN INCH (16 ") SLIPLINERS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, a 300 foot section of the fifteen inch (15") main
sewer line on West Main has deteriorated to a point that the flow
is severely impaired and a large cave -in could occur at any time;
and
WHEREAS, TEX. L.GOV•T.CODE ANN. S 252.022, provides that in
case of procurements for the protection of public health or
safety, the requirement for competitive bids is not applicable;
and
WHEREAS, informal bids for the installation of the liners in
the sewer pipe have been obtained, and McLat Construction of
Houston is the low bid; and
WHEREAS, informal bids for the sixteen inch (16N) slipliners
have been obtained, and Maskell /Robbins is the low bid; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists.
Section 2: That payment to McLat Construction of Houston of
the sum of TWO THOUSAND AND NO1100 ($2,000.00) DOLLARS for the
installation of the liners in the sewer pipe and that payment to
Maskell /Robbins of the sum of THREE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED NINE AND
NO 1100 ($3,609.00) DOLLARS for the sixteen inch (16'x) slipliners
is hereby authorized.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 1st day of August,
1991.
