Ordinance No. 5,900910613 -18 ORDINANCE NO. 5900 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 5796 ACCEPTING THE BID OF CAPPS RENT -A -CAR AND JOE MYERS RENTAL, INC. FOR THE LEASING OF VEHICLES AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN OF THE SUM OF SIX HUNDRED SIXTY -THREE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED ELEVEN AND 12/100 ($663,411.12) DOLLARS. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, did authorize the Purchasing Department for the City of Baytown to advertise for bids for the leasing of vehicles to be received February 26, 1991; and WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract would be let was published pursuant to the provisions of section 74 of the Charter of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 1991, as per published notice to bidders; and WHEREAS, bids were awarded pursuant to Ordinance No. 5796 to both vendors for a contract extension price which represented a one month payment only; and WHEREAS, the City of Baytown now desires to add an additional 24 units to the remainder of such contract with vendor Capps Rent -a -Car; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the bid of Joe Myers Rental, Inc. for Items No. 1, 2, 3 and 9 for the leasing of vehicles for the sum of TWO HUNDRED TWENTY -NINE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY--ONE AND 12/100 ($229,251.12) and authorizes payment thereof. Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the bid of CAPPS RENT -A -CAR for Items. No. 5, 7, 10 13, 14, 15, and 16 for leasing of vehicles for the sum of TWO HUNDRED NINETY -NINE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SIXTY AND N01100 ($299,160.00) DOLLARS and authorizes payment thereof. Section 3: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby awards 24 additional lease vehicles to Capps Rent -a -Car on the items accepted for the sum of ONE HUNDRED THIRTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND NO 1100 ($135,000.00) DOLLARS and authorizes payment thereof.
