Ordinance No. 5,866910523 -3 ORDINANCE PTO. 5866 All ORDINANCE AMENDING ART. II. "BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS" OF CHAPTER 2,, "ADMINISTRATION" TO ADD A DIVISION 9, "BAYTOWN ANIMAL CONTROL ADVISORY COMMITTEE, "; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That Art. II "Boards and Commissions" of Chapter 2 "Administration" of the Code of Ordinances, City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby amended by adding Div. 9, "Baytown Animal Control Advisory Committee ", which said Division shall read as follows: Div. 9. Baytown Animal Control Advisory Committee Sec. 2 - 71.1 Creation of Animal Control Advisory Committee There is hereby created the Baytown Animal Control Advisory Committee to assist the Baytown Animal Shelter comply with applicable law, formulate future animal control plans, strategies and education and recommend revision in the animal control ordinances. Sec. 2 - 71.2 Terms of Members (a) The Animal Control Advisory Committee shall be composed of the Chief Sanitarian, or his Designee, the Chief of Police, or his Designee, one (1) licensed veterinarian, one (1) representative from an animal welfare organization, and one (1) interested citizen. (b) The initial appointment of the licensed veterinarian shall be for a two year term and the representative of an animal welfare organization and interested citizen shall be a one year term. Subsequent appointments shall be for two year terms. Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby repealed; provided however, that such repeal shall be only to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance. Section 3: If any provisions, section, exception, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of circumstances, shall for any reason be held unconstitutional, 910523-3a void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their application to other persons or sets of circumstances and to this end all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect from and after passage hereof.
