AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION
EXISTS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF FIVE
THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FORTY AND N01100 ($5,840.00)
DOLLARS TO R.A. BLACKWELL FOR AN AIR CONDITIONING
COMPRESSOR; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the air conditioning compressor at Sterling
Municipal Library has suffered unforeseen damage; and
WHEREAS, TEX. L.GOV'T.CODE ANN. 5 2.52.022, provides that in
case of unforeseen damage to public machinery, equipment, or
other property, the requirement for competitive bids is not
applicable; and
WHEREAS, informal bids for an air conditioning compressor
have been obtained, and R.A. Blackwell, is the low bid; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists.
Section 2: That payment to R.A. Blackwell of the sum of
FIVE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FORTY AND NO 1100 ($5,840.00) DOLLARS
for an air conditioning compressor is hereby authorized.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 9th day of May,
1991.
