Ordinance No. 5,746910110 -13 ORDINANCE CFO. 5746 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING PAYMENT OF TWELVE THOUSAND FIVE • HUNDRED AND NO 1100 ($12,500.00) DOLLARS TO SETTLE JUAN RODRIQUEZ VS. CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, Juan Rodriquez filed a lawsuit against the City of Baytown, Cause Number 89- 01421, in the 234th District Court of Texas; and WHEREAS, the parties to this suit have agreed to a settlement of this dispute, whereby the City of Baytown will pay to the Plaintiff and his Attorney the sum of TWELVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND N01100 ($12,500.00) DOLLARS in return for a complete dismissal of the action; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City of Baytown agrees to pay to Juan Rodriquez and his Attorney, Chris Dixie, the sum of TWELVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND N01100 ($12,500,00) DOLLARS solely to settle a disputed claim and in return for the complete dismissal of Juan Rodriquez vs. City of Baytown, Texas. In authorizing this settlement, City Council does not acknowledge or admit to any liability. Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
