ORDINANCE NO. 5637
AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR THE
PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF ABBE
ADDITION, THE HOWELL TRACT ADJOINING ABBE ADDITION, AND
EXXON PROPERTY AT THE CORNER OF HIGHWAY 146 AND
INTERSTATE 10 AND ADJACENT AREA; DIRECTING THE
PREPARATION OF A SERVICE PLAN; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC
HEARINGS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: On the 11th day of October, 1990, at 7:00
o'clock p.m. and at 7 :15 o'clock p.m., in the City Council
Chambers of the City Hall of Baytown, Texas, the City Council
will hold public hearings giving all interested parties the right
to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of
Baytown, Texas, of the property described in Exhibits "A" and "B"
which are attached hereto and made a part hereof for all intents
and purposes.
Section 2: In compliance with TEX.L.GOV'T.CODE ANN.
§ 43.056, as amended, the Planning Department is hereby
directed to prepare a service plan that provides for the
extension of municipal service into the area described in
Exhibits "A" and "B."
Section 3: The City Clerk of the City of Baytown is hereby
authorized and directed to cause notice of each public hearing to
be published once in the newspaper having general circulation in
the City and in the above described territory not more than
twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of
each public hearing, all in accordance with TEX.L.GOV'T.CODE ANN.
§ 43.052.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 27th day of
September, 1990.

Legal Description for the Annexation of
Abbe Subdivision and Adjoining Property
BEGINNING at a point on the East right -of -way line of State Highway
146, said point being the northwest corner of Abbe Subdivision as
delineated on plat recorded in Volume 2, P. 104 of the Plat Records
of Chambers County, Texas, said point also being on the existing
city limits line of the City of Baytown,
THENCE, eastward along the North line of Abbe Subdivision a
distance of approximately 1588.50 feet to the northeastern corner
of said subdivision,
THENCE, North 79° 30100" East a distance of approximately 223.72
feet along the North property line of a 2.1929 acre tract of land
owned by Lawrence L. Howell to a 1/2" iron rod marking the
northeast corner of said tract,
THENCE, South 100 35100" East a distance of approximately 430.35
feet along the East property line of the aforementioned tract to
a 1/2" iron rod marking the southeast corner of said tract,

A tract of land, containing 0.8931 acres, being part of and out of
that tract of land described in deed recorded in Vol. 40, Page 175
of the Deed Records of Chambers County, Texas, in the William
Bloodgood Survey, Abstract 4, in Chambers County, Texas, and being
more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a State Highway Department concrete monument marking
the intersection of the easterly line of State Highway No. 146 and
the southerly line of I.H. 10, said beginning point being fixed
and established by field notes in deed from State of Texas to
Nellie M. Fitzgerald, dated 2 -7 -56, recorded in Vol. 178, Page 637
of the Deed Records of Chambers County, Texas, said beginning point
also being on the existing city limits line of the City of Baytown;
THENCE N 74 deg. 26' E (State Highway Grid: N 77 deg. 20' E) ,
along the southerly line of I.H. 10, variable width, a distance of
