ORDINANCE N0. 5581
AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT THE PAYMENT OF TAXES BY
HUMANA OF TEXAS, INC., DBA HUMANA HOSPITAL BAYTOWN, ON
ACCOUNT NUMBER 9905 -017 -877 -7 FOR THE TAX YEAR 1989 WAS
EXCESSIVE; APPROVING A REFUND OF THE OVERPAYMENT OF
SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY -TWO AND 85/100 ($752.85) DOLLARS;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, Humana of Texas, Inc., dba Humana Hospital Baytown,
has applied for a refund of an overpayment of taxes on account
number 9905 -017 -877 -7 for the tax year 1989 alleging a
substantial error in the appraisal records; and
WHEREAS, the Appraisal Review Board for the Harris County
Appraisal District has found that the appraisal records for
account number 9905 -017 -877 -7 were incorrect and has corrected
the records to conform them to the requirements of law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, has
determined that the March 9, 1990, payment of taxes on account
number 9905- 017 -877 -7 by Humana of Texas, Inc., dba Humana
Hospital Baytown, was excessive in the amount of SEVEN HUNDRED
FIFTY -TWO AND 85/100 ($752.85); NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby approves and
authorizes payment of SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY -TWO AND 85/100
($752.85) to Humana of Texas, Inc., dba Humana Hospital Baytown,
as a refund of the excessive payment of taxes on account number
9905 -017 -877 -7 for the tax year 1989.
Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 12th day of July,
