ORDINANCE NO. 5573
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION
EXISTS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF THREE
THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED NINETY -FIVE AND N01100 ($3,995.00)
DOLLARS TO YOUNG PLUMBING AND AIR CONDITIONING COMPANY,
INC. FOR THE EMERGENCY REPLACEMENT OF CARRIER BLOWER
ASSEMBLY AT CITY HALL; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the Carrier blower assembly used for City Hall air
conditioning has suffered unforeseen damage; and
WHEREAS, TEX. L.GOV'T.CODE ANN. section 252.022, provides
that in case of unforeseen damage to public machinery, equipment,
or other property, the requirement for competitive bids is not
applicable; and
WHEREAS, informal bids for the emergency replacement of
Carrier blower assembly at City Hall have been obtained, and
Young Plumbing and Air Conditioning Company, Inc., is the low
bid; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists.
Section 2: That payment to Young Plumbing and Air
Conditioning Company, Inc. of the sum of THREE THOUSAND NINE
HUNDRED NINETY -FIVE AND N01100 ($3,995.00) DOLLARS for the
emergency replacement of Carrier blower assembly at City Hall is
hereby authorized.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 28th day of June,
1990.
