ORDINANCE NO. 5572
AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT THE PAYMENT OF TAXES BY
WILLIAM MOORE ON ACCOUNT NUMBER 1065 - 000 -011 -0 FOR THE
TAX YEAR 1985 WAS EXCESSIVE; APPROVING A REFUND OF THE
OVERPAYMENT OF FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY -FOUR AND 55/100
($554.55) DOLLARS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, William Moore has applied for a refund of an
overpayment of taxes on account number 1065- 000 -011 -0 for the tax
year 1985 alleging a substantial error in the appraisal records;
and
WHEREAS, the Appraisal Review Board for the Harris County
Appraisal District has found that the appraisal records for
account number 1065 - 000 -011 -0 were incorrect and has corrected
the records to conform them to the requirements of law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, has
determined that the December 14, 1987, payment of taxes on
account number 1065 -000 -011 -0 by William Moore was excessive in
the amount of FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY -FOUR AND 55/100 ($554.55); NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby approves and
authorizes payment of FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY -FOUR AND 55/100
($554.55) to William Moore as a refund of the excessive payment
of taxes on account number 1065- 000 -011 -0 for the tax year 1985.
Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 28th day of June,
