Ordinance No. 5,560920613 -1 ORDINANCE NO. 5560 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF THREE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIFTY AND N01100 ($3,650.00) DOLLARS TO WENDELL'S TRANSMISSION FOR THE EMERGENCY REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION ON FIRE TRUCK UNIT #50; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the Fire Department's Fire Truck Unit #50 has suffered unforeseen damage; and WHEREAS, TEX. L.GOV'T.CODE ANN., section 252.022, provides that in case of unforeseen damage to public machinery, equipment, or other property, the requirement for competitive bids is not applicable; and WHEREAS, informal bids for the emergency replacement of transmission on Fire Truck Unit #50 have been obtained, and Wendell's Transmission, is the low bid; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists. Section 2: That payment to Wendell's Transmission of the sum of THREE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIFTY AND N01100 ($3,650.00) DOLLARS for the emergency replacement of transmission on Fire Truck Unit #50 is hereby authorized. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
