Ordinance No. 5,432WHEREAS, the Sterling Municipal Library's 30 ton compressor
has suffered unforeseen damage; and
WHEREAS, TEX.L.GOVIT.CODE ANN. S 252.022, provides that in
case of unforeseen damage to public machinery, equipment, or
other property, the requirement for competitive bids is not
applicable; and
WHEREAS, informal bids for the purchase of a 30 ton
compressor for the Sterling Municipal Library have been obtained,
and R. A. Blackwell, Inc., is the low bid; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY O AYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists.
Section 2: That payment to R. A. Blackwell, Inc. of the sum
of FIVE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED TWENTY AND NO/100 ($5,120.00)
DOLLARS for the purchase • a 30 ton compressor for the Sterling
Municipal Library is hereby authorized.
Section 3® This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
