ORDINANCE NO. 5290
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF TWO
THOUSAND NINETEEN AND 30/100 ($2,019.30) DOLLARS TO THE
HARRIS COUNTY TREASURER AS THE SOLE SOURCE FOR THE
RENTAL OF ELECTION EQUIPMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the election held June 3, 1989, required the rental
of election equipment from the Harris County Election Services
Department; and
WHEREAS, TEX.L.GOV"T.CODE ANN. 5 252.022 provides that when
the functional requirements of the City can only be satisfied by
one source, the requirement for competitive bids is not
applicable; and
WHEREAS, the rental of election equipment can be satisfied
by only one source, the Harris County Treasurer, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby declares that only one source can satisfy the needs
of the City for the rental of election equipment.
Section 2: That payment to the Harris County Treasurer, as
the sole source, of TWO THOUSAND NINETEEN AND 30/100 ($2,019.30)
DOLLARS as payment for the above described rental of election
equipment is hereby authorized.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 22nd day of June,
1989.
