Ordinance No. 5,228ORDINANCE NO. 5228 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND N01100 ($1,900,00) DOLLARS TO DANIELS DUMP TRUCK HAULING FOR THE DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 2107 MARYLAND; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the structure located at 2107 Maryland has suffered severe damage from a fire and the remaining structure poses a safety and health hazard to the surrounding neighborhood, and needs to be immediately removed; and WHEREAS, TEX.LOC.GOV'T.CODE ANN. 5 252.022, provides that in case of procurements for the protection of public health or safety, the requirement for competitive bids is not applicable; and WHEREAS, informal bids for the demolition of the structure located at 2107 Maryland have been obtained, and Daniels Dump Truck Hauling is the low bidder; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists. Section 2: That the City Manager and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest to a contract with Daniels Dump Truck Hauling for the demolition and removal of said structure for the sum of the ONE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND N01100 ($1,900.00) DOLLARS. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
