AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION
EXISTS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF ONE
THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND N01100 ($1,900,00) DOLLARS TO
DANIELS DUMP TRUCK HAULING FOR THE DEMOLITION OF
STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 2107 MARYLAND; AND PROVIDING FOR
THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the structure located at 2107 Maryland has suffered
severe damage from a fire and the remaining structure poses a
safety and health hazard to the surrounding neighborhood, and
needs to be immediately removed; and
WHEREAS, TEX.LOC.GOV'T.CODE ANN. 5 252.022, provides that in
case of procurements for the protection of public health or
safety, the requirement for competitive bids is not applicable;
and
WHEREAS, informal bids for the demolition of the structure
located at 2107 Maryland have been obtained, and Daniels Dump
Truck Hauling is the low bidder; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby declares that an emergency situation exists.
Section 2: That the City Manager and the City Clerk are
hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest to a
contract with Daniels Dump Truck Hauling for the demolition and
removal of said structure for the sum of the ONE THOUSAND NINE
HUNDRED AND N01100 ($1,900.00) DOLLARS.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 9th day of March,
1989.
