Ordinance No. 5,170890112 -1 ORDINANCE NO. 5170 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF SIX THOUSAND SIXTEEN AND 60/100 ($6,016.60) DOLLARS TO THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE FOR THE CITY'S SHARE OF THE EXPENSES IN THE GENERAL TELEPHONE COMPANY RATE CASE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the City of Baytown is one of a number of participating cities in Docket 5610 before the Public Utility Commission concerning the rate request of General Telephone Company; and WHEREAS, this rate case has continued for a long period of time, resulting in the attorneys and experts working for the cities' municipal rate case having not been paid for a number of months; and WHEREAS, the Steering Committee for the cities has determined that each participating city should contribute an assessment of $.10 per capita, based upon the population shown in the most recent TML Directory, in order to pay some of these incurred expenses; and WHEREAS, the City of Baytown's population as shown in the most recent TML directory is 60,166; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That payment of SIX THOUSAND SIXTEEN AND 60 1100 ($6,016.60) DOLLARS to the Texas Municipal League as the City of Baytown's assessment for participating in Docket 5610 before the Public Utility Commission of Texas, also known as GTE rate case, is hereby authorized. Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
