Ordinance No. 5,13381027 -2 ORDINANCE NO. 5133 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY -FOUR AND 56/100 ($2,554.56) DOLLARS TO SOUTHWESTERN BELL AS THE SOLE SOURCE FOR DEDICATED TELEPHONE LINE SERVICE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the library requires dedicated telephone line service to link its computer terminals with the Houston Area Library Automated Network; and WHEREAS, TEX.L.GOV'T.CODE ANN. § 252.022 provides that when the functional requirements of the City can only be satisfied by one source, the requirement for competitive bids is not applicable; and WHEREAS, the procurement of this dedicated telephone line can be satisfied by only one source, Southwestern Bell, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby declares that only one source can satisfy the needs of the City for a dedicated telephone service line to the Houston Area Library Automated Network. Section 2: That payment to Southwestern Bell, as the sole source, of TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY -FOUR AND 56/100 ($2,554.56) DOLLARS as payment for the above described dedicated service line is hereby authorized. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown. INTRODUCED, READ City Council of the October, 1988.
