0 ORDINANCE NO. 5123
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF GOODYEAR TIRE AND RUBBER AND
GOODYEAR COMMERCIAL TIRE FOR .THE.ANNUAL TIRE AND TUBE
CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF
® BAYTOWN OF THE SUM OF FORTY -EIGHT THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED
FIFTY AND 43/100 ($48,250.43) DOLLARS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown did
authorize the Purchasing Department for the City of Baytown to
advertise for bids for the annual tire and tube contract to be
received August 31, 1988; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when
and where the contract would be let was published pursuant to the
provisions of Section 74 of the Charter of the City of Baytown;
and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall
at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 31, 1988, as per published notice
to bidders; NOW THEREFORE,
40 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown
hereby accepts the bid of Goodyear Tire and Rubber for Section I
of the annual tire and tube contract for the sum of SIXTEEN
THOUSAND NINETY AND 35/100 ($16,090.35) DOLLARS, and authorizes
payment thereof.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown
hereby accepts the bid of Goodyear Commercial Tire for Section II
of the annual tire and tube contract for the sum of THIRTY -TWO
THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SIXTY AND 08//100 ($32,160.08) DOLLARS, and
authorizes payment thereof.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 13th day of
October, 1988.
