ORDINANCE NO. 5111
AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT THE PAYMENT OF TAXES BY
INTERFIRST BANK OF HOUSTON ON ACCOUNT NUMBER
1250- 005 -335 -0 FOR THE TAX YEAR 1986 WAS EXCESSIVE;
APPROVING A REFUND OF THE OVERPAYMENT OF TWELVE THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY -ONE AND 66/100 ($12,571.66)
DOLLARS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, Interfirst Bank of Houston has applied for a refund
of an overpayment of taxes on account number 1250- 005 -335 -0 for
the tax year 1986 alleging a substantial error in the appraisal
records; and
WHEREAS, the Appraisal Review Board for the Harris County
Appraisal District has found that the appraisal records for
account number 1250- 005 -335 -0 were incorrect and has corrected
the records to conform them to the requirements of law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, has
determined that the January 23, 1987, payment of taxes on account
number 1250 - 005 -335 -0 by Interfirst Bank of Houston was excessive
in the amount of $12,571.66; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby approves and
authorizes payment of $12,571.66 to Interfirst Bank of Houston as
a refund of the excessive payment of taxes on account number
1205 - 005 -335 -0 for the tax year 1986.
Section 2:
This ordinance shall take effect
immediately
from and after
its passage by the City Council of

Baytown.
