BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council does hereby authorize
Change Order No. 18 to the Contract with Basic Constructors, Inc.
for the enlargement of the Central Sewer District Wastewater
Treatment Plant, EPA Grant Project No. C -48- 1498 -03 (Contract
No. 1). A copy of said change order is attached hereto, marked
Exhibit "A," and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes.
Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately,
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.

Dear Mayor and City Council:
Your approval is requested on the following modifications and /or
changes to subject project. These added costs will be applied to
the above Contract.
Description Cost
1. Replacement of severely deteriorated air drops/
diffusers in sludge holding tank. The existing air
drops/ diffusers were installed i.n 1967. When this
basin was dewatered for construction of adjoining
improvements it was found that the ai.r pi.pi.ng system
had numerous holes due to corrosion, diffusers were
either mi.ssi.ng or broken and that there were no
salvageable, usable components. The work to be per-
formed is shown on the attached sheet 43 of 67 entitled
Sludge Holding T an k and Sludge Thickner Modi.fi.ed Plan"

dated April 1985. The proposed work consists of 13
air header assemblies (4" galy. pipe) w /MS diffusers.
Remove existing header to valve. Install new headers
with saddle supports, install diffusers, install 4"
valves and paint saddle supports.
