ORDINANCE NO. 4836
S AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF SEVEN
THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY -TWO AND N01100 ($7,852.00)
® DOLLARS TO TEXAS CORRECTIONAL INDUSTRIES OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, FOR OFFICE FURNITURE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department has determined that the
best price for office furniture for the Fire Administration
building is offered by Texas Correctional Industries, which is a
part of the Texas Department of Corrections; and
WHEREAS, TEX.REV.CIV.STAT., art. 4413(32c) provides that
local governments may contract directly with other local
governments and state agencies without the need for formal
bidding; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That payment to Texas Correctional Industries of
Huntsville, Texas, of the sum of SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED
FIFTY -TWO AND N01100 ($7,852.00) DOLLARS for office furniture is
hereby authorized.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 5th day of October,
1987.
