AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, "ELECTRICAL CODE," OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN BY
® AMENDING SECTION 11 -27, "JOURNEYMAN'S ELECTRICIAN'S
LICENSE ;" PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; CONTAINING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That Section 11 -27 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Baytown, is hereby amended to read as follows:

electrician shall be fifteen ($15.00) dollars and the
renewal fee shall be ten ($10.00) dollars.
(c) [Temporary license.]
(1) A journeyman's temporary license may be
issued upon proof that the applicant has
successfully completed apprenticeship in a four
year apprenticeship program or has a valid
journeyman license issued by a county, state,
or municipal body. Proof consists of an
accredited apprentice program certificate or a
current license. The temporary license will
terminate at the end of the week in which the
next journeyman license examination is
conducted. Only one nonrenewable temporary
license will be issued to a person. A fee of
ten dollars ($10.00) shall be charged for this
license.
® (2) Application for a normal journeyman's
license must be made at the time of application
for a temporary license. City Inspector shall
present all temporary license applications to
the electrical board for review and approval at
the first regularly scheduled or specially
called meeting of the board. Such action shall
be considered a regular agenda item.

Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect from and after
ten (10) days from its passage by the City Council. The City
Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the
caption of this ordinanc to be published in the official
newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10)
days after passage of this 'ordinance.
