Ordinance No. 4,804Published: The Baytown Sun Tuesday, September 15, 1987 Wednesday, September 16, 1987 70910 -7 ORDINANCE NO. 4804 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, REPEALING THE DESIGNATION OF THE INTERSECTION OF COLUMBIA STREET AT HAROLD LANE AS A STOP INTERSECTION AND AUTHORIZING THE REMOVAL OF SUCH SIGNS; DESIGNATING HAROLD LANE AT COLUMBIA STREET AS A STOP INTERSECTION AND PROVIDING FOR THE POSTING OF STOP SIGNS ON HAROLD LANE AT COLUMBIA STREET; REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSIS- TENT HEREWITH; CONTAINING. A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND NO /100 ($200:00) DOLLARS FOR THE VI.OL'ATION` THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. *********************************************** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6.701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, does declare the following described intersection will no longer be a stop intersection, to -wit: ® Columbia Street at Harold Lane Section 2: The Director of Planning and Traffic is authorized and directed to cause the removal of such signs at the above described location. Section 3: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, does declare the following described intersections to be stop intersections, to -wit: Harold Lane at Columbia Street Section 4: The Director of Planning and Traffic is hereby authorized to cause the proper signs to be posted at the above described location. Section 5: It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to disobey the instructions of the signs placed in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, unless at the time otherwise directed by a police officer or traffic control signal_ Section 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby repealed, provided however, that such repeal shall be'.onl:y to the extent of,-.such inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance. �j El 11 70910 -7a :7 ® Section 7: If any provision, section, exception, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or th.e application of same to any person or set of circumstances, shall for any reason be held unconstitu- tional, void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the validi:ty.of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their application to other persons or sets of circumstances and to this end all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 8: Any, person -who shall violate any provision of this ordinance shall be deemed .guilty of a misdeameanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than One and No /100 ($1.00) Dollar nor more than Two Hundred and No. /100 ($200.00) Dollars except minors who have passed their 14th birthday but have not reached their 17th birthday shall be punished by a fine of not more than One Hundred and No /100 ($100.00) Dollars. Section 9: This ordinance shall take.effect from and after ten (10) days from its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at.least twice within ten (10) days after the passage of this ordinance.
