ORDINANCE NO. 4693
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, DECLARING THAT UNFORESEEN DAMAGE TO A POLICE UNIT
HAS OCCURRED; AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF
® THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY -THREE AND 85/100
($3,383.85) DOLLARS TO DOC BREWER'S FOR THE REPAIR OF
POLICE UNIT #150; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
HEREOF.
WHEREAS, Police unit #150 has suffered damage from an
accident and needs to be repaired immediately to provide for the
public's safety; and
WHEREAS, TEX. REV. CIV. STAT., art. 2368a provides that in
case of unforeseen damage to public equipment, the requirement
for competitive bids is not applicable; and
WHEREAS, informal bids for the repair of the police car have
been obtained, and Doc Brewer's is the lowest and best bid; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby declares that unforeseen damage to a City of
Baytown police unit has occurred.
Section 2: That payment to Doc Brewer's of the sum of THREE
THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY -THREE AND 85/100 ($3,383.85)
DOLLARS is hereby authorized.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 9th day of April,
1987.
