Ordinance No. 4,69370409 -12 ORDINANCE NO. 4693 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, DECLARING THAT UNFORESEEN DAMAGE TO A POLICE UNIT HAS OCCURRED; AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF ® THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY -THREE AND 85/100 ($3,383.85) DOLLARS TO DOC BREWER'S FOR THE REPAIR OF POLICE UNIT #150; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, Police unit #150 has suffered damage from an accident and needs to be repaired immediately to provide for the public's safety; and WHEREAS, TEX. REV. CIV. STAT., art. 2368a provides that in case of unforeseen damage to public equipment, the requirement for competitive bids is not applicable; and WHEREAS, informal bids for the repair of the police car have been obtained, and Doc Brewer's is the lowest and best bid; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby declares that unforeseen damage to a City of Baytown police unit has occurred. Section 2: That payment to Doc Brewer's of the sum of THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY -THREE AND 85/100 ($3,383.85) DOLLARS is hereby authorized. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
