ORDINANCE NO. 4683
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING A PORTION OF BAKER ROAD AS WITHIN
THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS; MAKING
CERTAIN FINDINGS IN REGARD TO BAKER ROAD; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the right-of-way of Baker Road from its crossing of
the west fork of Goose Creek to the east right -of -way line of
North Main Street has been considered and treated as a part of
the City of Baytown for many years; and
WHEREAS, certain discrepancies in annexation ordinances
concerning the Baker Road area indicate that the above described
section of Baker Road may not have been properly annexed; and
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown has provided municipal service
to this area and otherwise treated Baker Road as being within the
city limits of the City of Baytown for many years; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown
hereby finds that:
® (a) the records of the City indicate that Baker Road
between its crossing of the west fork of Goose
Creek and the east right -of -way line of North Main
has been a part of the City of Baytown for at least
the preceeding twenty years;
(b) the City of Baytown has provided police and other
services, and otherwise treated the above described
portion of Baker Road as a part of the City of
Baytown during the preceeding twenty years;
(c) no final judicial determination has been made
during the preceeding twenty years that the above
described area is outside the boundaries of the
City of Baytown;
(d) no lawsuit is pending that challenges the inclusion
of the above described area as part of the City of
Baytown.

BEGINNING AT A POINT which is the intersection of the
midpoint of the west fork of Goose Creek Stream and the
north right -of -way line of Baker Road,
THENCE southerly along the meandering of the west fork
of Goose Creek's midpoint to its intersection with the
south right -of -way line of Baker Road,
THENCE in an easterly direction along the south right -
of -way line of Baker Road to its intersection with the
east right -of -way line of North Main Street,
THENCE northerly along the east right -of -way line of
North Main Street to its intersection with the north
right -of -way line of Baker Road,
THENCE in a westerly direction along the north right -of-
way line of Baker Road to its intersection with the
midpoint of the west fork of Goose Creek Stream, the
POINT OF BEGINNING.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 9th day of April,
1987.
