ORDINANCE NO. 4615
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF SIX
THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED THIRTY -SIX AND 70/100 ($6,636.70)
DOLLARS TO PRESCRIPTION LEARNING AS THE SOLE SOURCE FOR
A SYSTEM 80 READING MACHINE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the library requires a System 80 reading machine
for use in teaching adults to read; and
WHEREAS, TEX.REV.CIV.STAT., art. 2368a provides that when
the functional requirements of the City can only be satisfied by
one source, the requirement for competitive bids is not
applicable; and
WHEREAS, the procurement of System 80 reading machine can be
satisfied by only one source, Prescription Learning, NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby declares that only one source can satisfy the needs
of the City for a System 80 reading machine.
Section 2: That payment to Prescription Learning, as the
sole source, of SIX THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED THIRTY -SIX AND 70/100
($6,636.70) DOLLARS as payment for the above described System 80
reading machine is hereby authorized.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the llth day of
December, 1986.
