ORDINANCE NO. 4548
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 31, "UTILITIES," TO REVISE
WATER AND SEWER RATES; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES;
CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That Section 31- 56(a)(1) of the Cade of
Ordinances of the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Section 31 -56. Water rates.
(a) Basic rate schedule.
(1) Rate Table
Gallons of Water Amount or Rate
Used Per Month: To Be Charged:
First 2,000 minimum monthly rate.......... $6. 50
All over 2,000 per 1,000 gallons.......... $1. 60
Section E: That Section 31- -65(A) of the Cede of Ordinances
of the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 31- -65. Sewer set-vice charge.
(A) Rate Schedule:
(1) Minimum monthly rate .............$6.50
(L) Standard rate (per 1,000 gallons
in excess of minimum monthly) .... $ 1. 00
Section 3: That Section 31- 65.1(N)(2)(a) of the Cade of
Ordinances of the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Section 31 -65.1. Sewer service charge for users without
water or outside city.
(S) Users outside the city limits.
(2) Monthly service charges.
(a) Persons outside the city limits and
receiving water and sewer service from the
city shall pay a monthly sewer service
charge equal to the city's minimum charge
plus six and 50/100 ($6.57) dollars and
one and one --half (1 1 /2) times the rate
for any additional usage charged to a user
situated within the corporate limits of
the City of Baytown.

Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby
repealed, provided however, that such repeal shall be only to the
extent of such inconsistency and in all ether respects this
ordinance shall be cumulative of ether ordinances regulating and
governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance.
Section 5: 1f any prevision, section, exception,
subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of
circumstances, shall for any reason be held unconstitutional,
void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of
the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their application,
to other persons or sets of circumstances and to this end all
previsions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 6: This ordinance shall take effect with the first
water and sewer billing cycle in October, 1586.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 25th day of
September, 1986.
