Ordinance No. 4,54760925 -1 ORDINANCE NO. 4547 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, the emergency ambulance contractor for the City of Baytown, Texas, has left suddenly, leaving the City without emergency ambulance service; and WHEREAS, under TEX. REV. CIV. STAT. , art. 2368a, in cases of procurements necessary to preserve or protect public health or safety, competitive bids are not required; and WHEREAS, Baytown Ambulance Service has agreed to provide emergency ambulance service on a temporary basis; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS; Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby declares an emergency exists, and this ordinance approves an emergency procurement. Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes an expenditure of FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY AND NO/100 ($480-00) DOLLARS a day to Raytown Ambulance Service for providing emergency ambulance service within the City of Baytown, such service being one advanced life support unit and one basic life support unit, beginning September 18, 1586. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Bayt own.
