ORDINANCE N0. 4491
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF GENERAL TIRE SERVICE,
GOODYEAR TIRE AND SERVICE, AND A -Z TIRE AND BATTERY FOR
THE ANNUAL TIRE AND TUBE CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZING THE
PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN OF THE SUM OF
FORTY -EIGHT THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED SEVENTEEN AND 51/100
($48,217.51) DOLLARS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown did authorize the
Purchasing Department for the City of Baytown to advertise for bids for the annual
tire and tube contract to be received June 17, 1986; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the
contract would be let was published pursuant to the provisions of Section 74 of the
Charter of the City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 2:00 p.m.,
Tuesday, June 17, 1986, as per published notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the
bid of General Tire Service for Items No. 1, 9, 14, 15, and 16 of the annual tire
and tube contract for the sum of SEVENTEEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED EIGHT
AND 55/100 ($17,908.55) OULLARS, and authorizes payment thereof.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the
bid of Goodyear Tire and Service Center for Items No. 2 -8, 10 -13, 17 -19, and 21 -32
of the annual tire and tube contract for the sum of TWENTY -SEVEN THOUSAND
EIGHT HUNDRED EIGHTY-NINE AND 88/100 ($27,889.88) DOLLARS, and authorizes
payment thereof.
Section 3: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the
bid of A -Z Tire and Battery for Item No. 20 of the annual tire and tube contract
for the sum of TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED NINETEEN AND 08/100
($2,419.08) DOLLARS, and authorizes payment thereof.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown, this the 26th day of June, 1986.
