ORDINANCE N0. 4375
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION
EXISTS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
CHANGE ORDER FOR THE EMERGENCY ADDITIONAL REPAIiRS TO
THE CITY HALL ROOF; APPROVING PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF
SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHTY AND NO /100 ($7,080.00) DOLLARS; AND
PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the Baytown City Council in Ordinance No. 4320 accepted the bid
of Michalsky Roofing for re- roofing of City Hall; and
WHEREAS, the extent of roof failure and deterioration has exceeded our
reasonable estimate of necessary repair; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby
declares that an emergency situation exists.
Section 2: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby
authorized and directed to enter into a change order with Michalsky Roofing for the
emergency additional repairs to the City Hall roof, and payment of an additional
SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHTY AND NU /100 ($7,080.00) DOLLARS for the cost of this
change order is authorized.
Section 3: That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve necessary
change orders involving cost of FIFTEEN THOUSAND AND 1\40/100 ($15,000.00)
DOLLARS or less and not to exceed twenty -five (25 %) percent of the authorized
contract price.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown, this the 23rd day of January, 1986.
