ORDINANCE NO. 4169
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A PROPOSAL FOR THE TESTING AND
SEGREGATION OF WASTE MATERIALS ON THE NORTH MAIN STREET
PARK PROPERTY; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF THIRTEEN THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED AND NO /100 ($13,500.00) DOLLARS IN
CONSIDERATION THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the North Main Street Park property has numerous barrels of
unknown and possibly toxic materials on it; and
WHEREAS, the Administration has contacted several companies and sought
proposals for their providing professional assistance in segregating and analyzing the
unknown material; and
WHEREAS, the Analytical Petroleum Research proposal was the lowest and
best proposal; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby approves entering into a contract
with Analytical Petroleum Research for their professional assistance in segregating
and analyzing the unknown waste material on the North Main Street Park property,
and the City Manager and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute such
contract.
Section 2: That payment of THIRTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND
NO /100 ($13,500.00) DOLLARS to Analytical Petroleum Research is authorized as
consideration for their services.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown, this the 13th day of June, 1985.
