ORDINANCE NO. 4136
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, RENEWING THE CONTRACT WITH JIM BOND AND
COMPANY FOR PROPERTY COVERAGE FOR THE CITY OF BAYTOWN;
AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST TO THE RENEWAL OF SAID CONTRACT
WITH JIM BOND AND COMPANY; AUTHORIZING PAYMENTS OF
PREMIUMS PURSUANT TO THE TERMS OF SAID CONTRACT; AND
PROVIDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, did authorize the
Administration to advertise for bids to supply the City of Baytown with property
coverage for the City of Baytown, said bids to be received March 21, 1983; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the
contract would be let was published pursuant to provisions of Section 74 of the
Charter of the City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 5:00 o'clock
p.m., Monday, March 21, 1983, as per published notice to bidders; and
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown's consultant the Wyatt Company, has advised
the Administration of the fiscal advantages of annual renewals of policies with the
City's selected agents; and
WHEREAS, the selected agent has offered renewals which do not substantially
vary for property coverages; and
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby
renews property coverages, including facilities, EDP, boiler and machinery, criminal
activity, and contractors equipment coverages, with its contracted agent Jim Bond
and Company.
Section 2: That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed
to execute and attest to a contract with James Bond and Company and the Director
of Personnel is hereby authorized to make payments of premiums pursuant to the
terms of said contract, said base premium being ONE HUNDRED TWENTY
THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY -SIX AND NO /100 ($120,746.00) DOLLARS.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
