WHEREAS, there being no request for an "on-site" hearing, two public
hearings before the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, where all
interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed
annexation of the property described in Section 1 of this ordinance, were held, one
at 7 :00 P.M. and the other at 7:15 P.M., on the 12th day of July, 1984, in the City
Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, which date is not

more than forty (40) nor less than twenty (20) days prior to the institution of

annexation proceedings; and

WHEREAS, notice of such public hearings were published in a newspaper
having general circulation in the City of Baytown, Texas, and in the below described
territory on the 29th day of June, 1984, which date is not more than twenty (20)
nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearings; and
WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the
22nd day of March, 1984, was 29.455 square miles; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas is approximately
58,538 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, the below described territory lies within the extraterritorial
jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the below described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City
of Baytown, Texas NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the following described land and territory lying adjacent to
and adjoining the City of Baytown is hereby added and annexed to the City of
Baytown, Texas, and shall hereinafter be included within the boundary limits of the
City of Baytown, Texas, and present boundary limits of such City, at the various
points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as

to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown, Texas,
to-wit:

Section 2: The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a
Part of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear its
pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and the
inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the
citizens of the City of Baytown and shalt be bound by the acts, ordinances,
resolutions, and regulations of the City of Baytown, Texas.
Section 3: in accordance with TEX. REV. CIV. STAT. art. 970a the service
plan prepared by the City for providing municipal services to the annexed area is
attached as Exhibit "B" and is hereby approved.
Section 4: This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner
provided in Article 1, Section 9, of the Charter of the City of Baytown, Texas.

Properties Annexation
The area proposed for annexation consists of approximately
41,338 acres of land inthe northwest quadrant of the intersection
of Garth Road with Baker Road. Public hearings on the property
are scheduled for July 12, 1984 at 7:00 p.m. and 7:1S p.m. in
the Council Chambers of City Hall.
The area is adjacent to existing City limits along the crest
side of Garth Road and south side of Baker Road.
Specific Service Plans for each responding Department,
along with field notes and a vicinity map are on file With
the City Clerk and are available for review.
The Police, Fire, Inspection, Health and Public Works Departments
all responded that no additional buildings, vehicle or personnel
will be required as a result of this annexation.
The area will be assigned to Police districts 82 and 7,
Fire Station #u and the Central Waste mater district.
Water and Sewer service lines are available along either Garth
or Baker Roads.
Upon Annexation the Health and Inspection Departments will
issue all necessary permits and conduct any required building
or health inspections.
