Ordinance No. 3,891 ORDINANCE NO. 3891 AN ORDINANCE SUSPENDING HOUSTON LIGHTING & POWER COMPANY'S PROPOSED INCREASE IN RATES FOR 90 DAYS AND MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS. WHEREAS, Houston Lighting and Power Company filed a "Rate Filing Package" stating its intent to increase rates within the City of Baytown with the City Clerk pursuant to Article 1446c on June 15, 1984; and WHEREAS, the City of Baytown desires to evaluate the merits of such rate increase prior to the inception of the proposed rates; and WHEREAS, the time necessary for a complete evaluation requires the proposed rates be suspended for a period of 90 days beyond July 20, 1984; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: Having considered the time necessary to evaluate the merits of Houston Lighting and Power Company's proposed rate increase, the City Council hereby finds that the proposed rates should be suspended pursuant to Article 1446c. Section 2: Houston Lighting and Power Company's proposed rates for customers within the city limits of the City of Baytown are suspended for a period of 90 days beyond July 20, 1984, which date the rates would otherwise become effective, or until a new rate ordinance for Houston Lighting and Power Company is passed by the City Council, whichever comes first. Section 3: The City Clerk is hereby directed to deliver a copy of this ordinance to Houston Lighting and Power Company. Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
