WHEREAS, A portion of the sanitary sewer line along Ward Road has
deteriorated and collapsed; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to slipiine approxirnataly 593 feet of eight (8) Lich
sewer pipe with seven (7) inch dipiine and make four (4) residential connections

k which has. created a need for immediate action by the City; and
WHEREAS, when it becomes necessary to appropriate money at once to
Protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Baytown, the requirement
of publishing notice and taking competitive bids is not
applicable; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration has taken Informal bids for the costs of
the necessary pipe, and Channel Construction
Company, Inc. submitted the tow bids
NOW 7HEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAIWD BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOW 4
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby declares and finds that an
emergency situation exists; that immediate action is necessary to protect the
health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Baytown; and that the requirement for
formal notice and bids are hereby waived
Section 2: That the bid of Channel Construction Company, Inc. for the
sliplining of 593 feet of an eight (8) inch sanitary sewer line west on Ward Road
from Kilgore Road and making four (4) residential connections is hereby accepted,
and payment not to exceed the sum of EIGHT 71 -MSAND TWO HUNDRED NINETY
• SEVEN AND 301100 ( ;8,297.30) DOLLARS is hereby authorized.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
