BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BJIyMWN,
TEXASe
Section l: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas_ hereby
amends Chapter 2, Administration by adding a new Section 2430 to read as follows:
Sec. 2 -130. Microfilming Official Records
(a) The City of Baytown may microphotograph or microfilm certain
records including;
1. Personnel Documents
2. Criminal Offense Reports
3. Prisoner Identification Records
4. Traffic Accident Reports
S. Official Maps
6. Ordinances
7. City Council Minutes
8. Birth and Death Records.
9. Contracts
(b) Such microphotograph or microfilm process shall accurately and
Permanently reproduce such 'records to meet the requirements of the
United States of America Standards Institute for archival quality,
density, resolution, and definition.
(c) The department head or their designated representative shall check
and certify that each microfilm record is a true and correct duplication
of the original public record, and
(d) Such microfilm records, to which they are entitled under law, shall
be made available to the public during regular t,usiness hours.
(e) Notice of proposed destruction or disposition of original public
records shall be given to the State librarian or State Archivist.
(f) The original camera microfilm negative shall be retained as a
security cor•y in a location separate from the location of the original
record and duplicate microfilm copies, that is secure from fire and
burglary and in which constant archival environmental conditions are
maintained.
(g) Official records may be destroyed or disposed of according to
written departmental policy and in full compliance with this Section.
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the terms
of this ordinance are hereby repealed, provided however, that such repeat shall be
only to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance
shall be cumulative of other ordinances regulating and governirrg the subject matter
covered by this ordinance.
Saction 3: If any provision section exce tion subsection

sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to any
person or at of circumstances, shall for any reason be held unconstitutional, void or
Invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining proviracns of
this ordinance or their application to other persons or sets of circumstances and to
this end all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 4: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
