ORDINANCE NO. 3683
AN ORDINANCE EXPRESSING THE DESIRE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
TO CONTINUE ITS PRESENT GROUP POLICY WITH TEXAS
MUNICIPAL LEAGUE INSURANCE TRUST FUND FOR LIFE
INSURANCE, MAJOR MEDICAL BENEFITS, BASIC MEDICAL
BENEFITS, AND DENTAL BENEFITS FOR THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
EMPLOYEES; DIRECTING PAYMENT OF PREMIUMS; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, did award to the
Texas Municipal League Insurance Trust Fund the Contract to supply the City of
Baytown with a group insurance policy providing for the life insurance, major
medical benefits, basic medical benefits, and dental benefits for the City of
Baytown employees; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Municipal League Insurance Trust Fund has notified the
City that its current rates will be increased; and
WHEREAS, the proposed increase is consistent with inflationary increases
occurring in the covered expenses and the additions of dated benefits; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, wishes to
continue the group policy with Texas Municipal League Insurance Trust Fund to
provide life insurance, major medical benefits, basic medical benefits, and dental
benefits to the City of Baytown employees.
Section 2: That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make
payments of premiums pursuant to the terms of the contract with Texas Municipal
League Insurance Trust Fund using the new rates that have been proposed.
Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown, this the 22nd day of September, 1983.
