Ordinance No. 3,67830916 -2 ORDINANCE NO. 3678 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS; ACCEPTING THE BID OF BAYTOWN TRUCKING FOR THE REMOVAL OF STORM DEBRIS FROM PARK LAND OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FIFTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY -TWO AND 751100 ($15,422.75) DOLLARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH ACCEPTANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. # iE# k# iEit##### �F1[-1 riE�; t-- k# iFif�## ii- 3E### iFiFiFitiF# iFiF�l- iF#; tiFtiE# iF# iEil�kihiF# iEit# fF# 3E# 1F# ii- if- # #ii-it #iI-iE *3t # # #iE ## #-kiE WHEREAS, Hurricane Alicia left immense quantities of fallen trees and other storm debris in the park land of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, such storm debris has now become a fire hazard and a breeding place for vermin which has created a need for immediate action by the City; and WHEREAS, when it becomes necessary to appropriate money at once to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Baytown, the requirement of publishing notice for bids is not applicable; and WHEREAS, the City Administration has taken bids for the costs of the necessary removal of storm debris, and Baytown Trucking submitted the low bid; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, I CIVA -061 Section 1: That the City Council hereby declares and finds that an emergency situation exists; that immediate action is necessary to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Baytown to abate the fire hazard and breeding place for vermin in the park land of the City of Baytown; and that the requirements for formal notice of bids are hereby waived. Section 2: That the bid of Baytown Trucking for removal of such storm debris is hereby accepted, and payment of the sun of FIFTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY -TWO AND 75/100 ($15,422.75) DOLLARS is hereby authorized. Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
