Ordinance No. 3,533A30113 -1 ORDINANCE NO. 3533 -A AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, PROVIDING THAT A PORTION OF NORTH SIXTH STREET BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE QUITCLAIMING OF THE CITY'S INTEREST IN SAID LAND; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. and WHEREAS, North Sixth Street is a dedicated public street; WHEREAS, J. B. and LAVERNE NELSON are the abutting land owners to a portion of North Sixth Street and have made appli- cation that said portion be discontinued, closed, and abandoned as a public street; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: The property to be abandoned is described as follows: BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Lot 10, Block 12, of W. P. Wright Addition, of the William Scott Survey 65, a subdivision of the City of Baytown, Harris County, Texas, as the point of beginning; THENCE, in a westerly direction approximately 2.10 feet, to a point for corner; THENCE, in a southerly direction running parallel to the westernmost boundary line of said Lot 10, also being the westernmost edge of said garage, for a distance of approximately 21.40 feet, ending at a point at the southwest corner of said garage; THENCE, in an easterly direction along the southern edge of said garage for approximately 2.10 feet, to a point for corner on the western boundary line of said Lot 10; THENCE, in a northerly direction along the western boundary line of said Lot 10, for a distance of approximately 21.40 feet, to the Point of Beginning and enclosing the tract herein conveyed. A map of such property to be abandoned is attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A" Section 2: That the portion of North Sixth Street as described above is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever. 30113 -1a Section 3: That the interest or interests of the City and /or public in the above described portion of said street (and as shown in Exhibit "A" attached hereto) is hereby quitclaimed to the adjacent owners for and in consideration of One Hundred and No /100 ($100.00) Dollars. Section 4: That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute such instruments, if any, necessary for such abandonment and sale. Section 5: That this Ordinance is to become effective from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
