ORDINANCE NO. 3502
AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING SCHOOL BUS LOADING ZONES FOR
ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE;
PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM
PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND N01100 ($200.00) DOLLARS;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE
HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the following described locations are
designated as school bus zones:
Carolina Street - Northside from a point
478 feet east of its intersection with
Kentucky Street for a distance of 120 feet
Virginia Street - Southside 100 feet west
of its intersection with New Jersey.
New Jersey - 41 feet east of its
intersection with Virginia.
Section 2: That school bus zones shall be in effect between
the hours of 7:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on
school days only.
Section 3: The Director of Planning and Traffic is hereby
authorized and directed to cause the proper signs to be posted at
the above described location.
Section 4: It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle
to disobey the instructions of the signs placed in accordance
with the provisions of this ordinance, unless at the time
otherwise directed by a police officer.
Section 5: If any provision, section, exception, sub-
section, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance
or the application of same to any person or set of circumstances,
shall for any reason be held unconstitutional, void or invalid,
such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining
provisions of this ordinance or their application to other
persons or sets of circumstances and to this end all provisions
of this ordinance are declared to be severable.

Section 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in-
consistent with the terms of this ordinance, are hereby repealed
provided, however, that such repeal shall be only to the extent
of such inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance
shall be cumulative of other ordinances regulating and governing
the subject matter covered by this ordinance.
Section 7: Any person who shall violate any provision of
this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than One and
No /100 ($1.00) Dollar nor more than Two Hundred and No /100
($200.00) Dollars except minors who have passed their fourteenth
birthday but have not reached their seventeenth birthday shall be
punished by a fine of not more than One Hundred and No /100
($100.00) Dollars. Each day of the continuance of such violation
shall be considered a separate offense and each and every day
shall constitute a separate violation.
Section 8: This ordinance shall take effect from and after
ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council. The City
Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the
caption of this ordinance to be published in the official
newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10)
days after the passage of this ordinance.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown this the 11th day of
November . 1982.
