ORDINA14CE NO. 3465
AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR THE
PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF THE
UNITED STATES STEEL PLANTSITE; DIRECTING THE
PREPARATION OF A SERVICE PLAN; AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH
PUBLIC HEARINGS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: On the 14th of October 1982, at
7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the
City of Baytown, Texas, the City Council will hold a public
hearing giving all interest parties the right to appear and be
heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Baytown, Texas of
the property described in Exhibit "A" which is attached and made
a part hereof for all purposes.
Section 2: On the 14th day of October , 1982, at
5:30 p.m., in the Administration Building of the United States
Steel Plantsite on Farm to Market Road 1405, the City Council
will hold a public hearing giving all interested parties the
right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the
City of Baytown, Texas of the property described in the attached
Exhibit "A".
Section 3: In compliance with TEX. CIV. REV. STAT. art
970a, as amended, the Planning Department is hereby directed to
prepare a service plan that provides for the extension of
municipal service into the area described in Exhibit "A".
Section 4: The City Clerk of the City of Baytown is hereby
authorized and directed to cause notice of each public hearing to
be published once in the newspaper having general circulation in
the city and in the above described territory not more than
twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of
each public hearing, all in accordance with the Municipal
Annexation Act (Chapter 160, Acts of the 58th Legislature,
20924-7a
Regular Session, 1963; compiled at 970a Vernon's Texas Civil
Statutes, as amended).
Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect from and after
its passage.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown this the 24th day of
September , 1982.

facilities of U. S. Steel on Cedar Bayou.

BEGINNING at a point on the existing city limit line, said
point being at the waters edge of the West bank of Cedar Bayou,
also said point being the Southeast corner of the U.S. Steel H-5
Tract (deeded to Patricia N. Phelan, et al) and the most
northerly Northeast corner of the U.S. Steel H-7 Tract (deeded to
Mrs. Rosa Kilgore and Mrs. Elizabeth Jones). This corner having
a Texas Plane Coordinate value of x = 700,155.71 ; y =
3,291,856.09 and referenced from a concrete monument set by
Limbaugh Engineers as control for aerial mapping, stamped
2300-10, and having a Texas Plane Coordinate value of x =
3,290,730.35; y = 698,911.72 at North 52° 06' 01" East 1703.11;
feet.
THENCE, North 00000100" East for a distance of 2267.03 feet to a
point for corner;
THENCE, North 86°46'09" East for a distance of 1372.18 feet to a
common point, said common point being at the water's edge of
Cedar Bayou and in the existing city limit line;
THENCE, North 86°46109" East on a line crossing Cedar Bayou to
the East bank for a distance of 290.0 feet to a common point,
said point being the Southwest corner of the U. S. Steel Tract
No. 5-A and the Northwest corner of the U. S. Steel Tract No. 26;
