Ordinance No. 3,41220624 -5 ORDINANCE NO. 3412 AN ORDINANCE AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE 1982 STREET IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM TO SKRLA, INC.; MAKING CERTAIN FIND- INGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown did authorize the City Engineer of the City of Baytown to advertise for bids for the construction of the 1982 Street Improvement Program to be received June 14, 1982; and WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract for said construction would be let was published pursuant to provisions of TEX.REV.CIV.STAT., art. 2368a; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 9:30 o'clock a.m., Monday, June 14, 1982, as per published notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the bid of Skrla, Inc., according to the plans and specifications set forth by the City Engineer on a construction timetable of 110 working days for the sum FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED THREE & 20/100 ($524,503.20) DOLLARS, and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest to a contract with Skrla, Inc. for the construction of the streets under the 1982 Street Improvement Program as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, containing the plans, specifications, and requirements of the City Engineer and appropriate bond provisions in accordance with the provisions of TEX.REV.CIV.STAT., art 5160. Section 2: That pursuant to the provisions of TEX.REV.CIV. STAT., art 2368a, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTEEN THOUSAND and No /100 ($15,000.00) Dollars or less, subject to the provision that 20624 -5a the original contract price may not be decreased by more than twenty --five (25 %) percent without the consent of the contractor to such decrease. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage.
